Frankfurt, March 24, 2026 — DTCP, a leading specialist investment management firm focused on digital transformation, today announces the acquisition of Dark Fiber Group, a newly established, independent developer and operator of next-generation dark fiber infrastructure in Norway, Sweden, Finland and Denmark.
Dark Fiber Group is building a high-capacity, future-ready duct and fiber infrastructure platform focused on connecting key data-center hubs and strategic locations across the Nordics. The company will develop, build and operate new, dedicated long-haul and metro fiber routes to support rising demand for secure, scalable and low-latency connectivity driven by cloud, AI and large-scale data-center deployments.
The platform differentiates itself through its focus on purpose-built, next-generation infrastructure and diversified route development, with a strong emphasis on reliability and scalability. Dark Fiber Group aims to provide essential infrastructure for mission-critical workloads of data center operators, cloud providers, and telecom companies, forming a key backbone for the Nordic digital economy.
DTCP is backing a highly experienced management team with deep expertise in building, operating, and commercializing large-scale fiber networks across Europe. The team combines strong technical know-how, longstanding customer relationships, and proven local execution capabilities.
“Dark Fiber Group represents a compelling opportunity to build a next-generation connectivity platform in a structurally growing market,” said Bart de Jong, Managing Director at DTCP. “We are particularly impressed by the strength of the management team and their ability to deliver complex infrastructure projects at scale. Together, we are well positioned to support the increasing demand for high-performance digital infrastructure across the Nordics.”
“We are excited to partner with DTCP to develop new duct and dark fiber infrastructure connecting key data-center hubs across the region,” said Brendan Ives, CEO of Dark Fiber Group. “The Nordic region's data center ecosystem is growing rapidly, and we see a clear gap for purpose-built, independent fiber infrastructure to serve it. We have the routes, the relationships, and the team to fill that gap.”
“As cloud adoption, AI workloads, and data-center deployment significantly accelerate across the region, the demand for high-quality, independent fiber infrastructure has never been clearer," said Philipp von Bismarck, Managing Partner at DTCP. "This investment reflects our conviction that long-haul and metro fiber is critical backbone infrastructure for the digital economy — and our confidence in this team's ability to build a leading platform across the Nordics.”
